A teacher’s aide (TA) is a professional who helps administer materials to students and organizes the flow of instruction and learning in the classroom. Depending on the school, teacher and classroom, they may be also responsible for overseeing student safety or assisting in physical care tasks according to the primary teachers’ instruction or request.
Although they primarily work full-time and have the same hours as the teacher they work alongside, some aides may work part time, depending on the requirements of the school. Teacher’s aides can provide support for students through social and behavioral situations in the classroom as well as provide them guidance as they learn new skills and classroom material.
